Fanny Morice-Picard is a hospital practitioner in the pediatric dermatology department at the Bordeaux University Hospital. She also is involved in the Reference Centre for Rare Skin Disorders, founded by Pr Alain Taïeb in 2005 at Bordeaux University Hospital. Her involvement with the Reference Center includes different projects regarding rare skin disorders: participation in clinical trials, epidemiological studies and development of programs of therapeutic patient education. Her other professional activities include management and care of patients with rare inherited skin disorders and research on the physiopathology and genetic causes of skin diseases including albinism. The albinism outpatient clinic, of which she is a part, was the first multidisciplinary day hospital developed in France specifically for patients with albinism.
Dr Morice-Picard’s education includes a Master in Molecular Genetics in Paris (Hôpital Necker-INSERM U393) in 2003-2004, a degree in Medical Genetics from the University of Bordeaux in2007 and a PhD in Biological Sciences “Molecular Genetics” at the University of Bordeaux in2013. She spent 2 years as Senior Registrar followed by 2 years as a University hospital lecturer in the Medical Genetics unit at University of Bordeaux and shared her time between clinical activity, molecular diagnostic and research.
